ACT 3 - Planning For a Perfect Strike

Nami-Rei brought a significant amount of ninja for the march but it was really astounding when he saw Ieyasu's army. Even the Generals were surprised. These are the some of the generals of Ieyasu and the number of men they brought.

 

Kato Kiyamasa - 2990 men (samurai and gunmen)

 

Hosokawa Tadaoki - 4500 men (samurai and spearmen)

 

Asano Yukinaga -  6751 men (samurai, archer and spearmen)

 

Ikeda Terumasa - 5000 men (spearmen , village militia and gunmen)

 

Fukushima Masanori - 6005 men (samurai, archer and gunmen)

 

Nami-Rei Kobayashi - 1000 men (ninja)

 

And finally

 

Tokugawa Ieyasu - 30000 men (samurai, spearmen ,archers, gunmen and imperial militia)

 

Nami-Rei was just baffled by the number of men brought by Ieyasu. Then after a short while he finally said:

 

"Ieyasu, that's an astounding number of men that you brought."

 

"I want to ensure our victory over the Sekigahara Army" Ieyasu replied.

 

"Well if that is how you see it." Nami-Rei replied.

 

"I'm not surprised that you still did not bring your whole clan" Ieyasu said to Nami-Rei

 

"I have a war philosophy" Nami-Rei replied.

 

"Which is?" Ieyasu asked

 

"There is no strength in numbers.." Nami-Rei said. With that being said the leaders of each troops were asked to go to the council room to plan their march.

 

"So let's begin...." Ieyasu said. "Kato, what is your plan?"

 

Kato was the tactician of all the generals. He knows the terrain of Sekigahara which gives Ieyasu's army the advantage.

 

"My lord....the Sekigahara village is a big place, if we don't know where to place our men then we might as well give in to Hideyoshi. I came up with this plan to corner his troops in the middle of the village." Kato said.

 

"So you suggest that we put our sentries around Sekigahara's borders?" Fukushima asked

 

"Exactly... then we wait for the right time to attack." Kato added.

 

"That's almost a good plan" Nami-Rei said.

 

"What do you mean almost?" Kato asked?

 

"You're forgetting one thing....the Sekigahara Army...based on what I have learned has hired extraordinary rebels...." Nami-Rei added.

 

"You don't mean..." Ieyasu said.

 

"Assasins....that cannot be detected by the five senses....." Nami-Rei added.

 

"So what now?" Kato asked.

 

"We still go with your plan Kato, but there will be slight changes...for the ninja that is." Nami-Rei said.

 

"What do you suggest? Fukushima asked.

 

"Us ninja will be distributed in your troops. Approximately 146 ninja will be in each troop all of them except for me." Nami-Rei said.

 

"What do you mean?" Ieyasu asked once more

 

"I will be going with you Ieyasu...the leaders of the resistance tend to work in groups." Nami-Rei said.

 

"So it is clear then. THIS WILL BE OUR FORMATION!!! LET's GET OUT THERE AND DEFEND THE HONOR OF THE SHOGUNATE!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ieyasu said with conviction.

 

"FOR HONOR!!!!!!!!" all the generals shouted.

 

"For honor indeed" Nami-Rei thought as he left the council room to prepare for the long march.
