Chapter 24 - Lesson Three

Chapter 24 - Lesson Three

A Chapter by CrossesOfTime

"Before we move on to the Limit Attacks that I talked about I want to ask you this question. In all the fights that you have had so far, have you experienced executing fight techniques that you do not know you have in your arsenal?" Iraven asked

"I'm not really sure...." Aedan replied.

He tried to recall all the fights that he has been in while wielding the Redeemer. He recalled the two techniques (The Gauntlet attack and the Beam like maneuver) he used against Glyndwir in their fight.

"Come to think of it, I remember executing techniques against Glyndwir. Against him only that is. The other guy Sefir, I just don't remember anything during our fight." Aedan said.

"You must've been in the Trance state against Sefir, well that's okay. Let's just focus on the techniques you used on Glyndwir. What did they look like? Tell me the specifics." Iraven told him.

"The first move I remember was a huge gauntlet came out when I thrust the Redeemer on the ground and the second one was when I swung the sword in the air, a huge curve like beam came out of it." Aedan replied.

"Ah I remember, those Limit Attacks must've been The Hyperia's Gauntlet and The Baldurian Beam." Iraven said.

"How do you know all of these things?" Aedan asked.

"Because I taught Elrond on how to control his Limit Attacks and I happen to know how to control mana as well in using these attacks." Iraven said.

After saying those things, Iraven demonstrated the Blade Beam to Aedan. Aedan was shocked that he can do it as well.

"This is just the generic version of your Baldurian Beam. It's somewhat the same because you utilize mana to do such moves. In controlled amounts that is." Iraven said. "Give it a try Aedan. Try to execute the Baldurian Beam first." He added.

Aedan focused all of his energy and mana and attempted to do the Baldurian Beam. He succeeded in doing so and Iraven was impressed.

"Good. It's just like feeling your opponents energy but in this situation you feel yours as well. The Mana serves as the Energy used on the Baldurian Beam." Iraven said. "Now we move on to the second Limit attack which is the Hyperia's Gauntlet." he added.

Iraven now demonstrated the general idea for that move. He thrusted his sword down on the ground and then a mountain like structure rose up from the ground where he had thrusted his sword.

"Unlike you, Regular fighters like me have limited Mana usage. This is parallel to the energy inside my body which leads to me just having the generic versions of your limit attacks. I have my own limit attacks as well but I need not show them to you because you will have your own set of Limit attacks as well." Iraven said "Now try to execute the Limit Attack "Hyperia's Gauntlet"" He added.

Aedan now focused the Mana on his sword the Redeemer. The sword now was being surrounded by the holy energy. He then thrusted the sword to the ground and he saw that the Gauntlet rise up from the ground below. Iraven was amazed on the kid's potential because he had already mastered the two limit attacks in an instant.

"You said Regular fighters. What about me? What's different?" Aedan asked Iraven.

"The Guardian and The Maiden are the two people in this world who can utilize the mana without depending on their energy in their bodies. In simple terms the Mana is not parallel to your energy therefore it takes longer for you to run out of Mana than we regular fighters furthermore, in the trance state of the Redeemer, you have unlimited Mana usage and you can utilize these attacks anytime you want." Iraven replied.

"So I guess there is a catch in the trance state huh?" Aedan asked.

"You're not you when you're in the trance. Just a puppet of the sword Redeemer. The same goes for the Ethereal too." Iraven replied. "Well whatever. I have taught you the techniques you need to know as of now. You still have to spar with me from time to time my idiot apprentice. I guess I'll have to join you in your travels then."

"I wouldn't have it any other way, drunk b*****d" Aedan said as he smirked.

"Well we better get going then, everyone's waiting for us back at the inn and we wouldn't want them to worry my idiot apprentice." Iraven said as he walked back to town. Aedan soon followed and both made their way back to the city of Alsirune.
