Chapter 27 - Histories Part 2 (Enma and Maiev) The Announcement at Savato.

Enma overslept as a result of Maiev's advice to him when they met. He did as he was told and drank warm milk in order to get some sleep and to get rid of the excitement. Meanwhile in the palace of Alsirune, the king was getting impatient because Enma hasn't arrived in his palace.

"Is he always this late?" The king asked one of his imperial guards.

"We do not know sire, we only met him yesterday." The guard replied.

Maiev, who was in the palace because she is the king's niece, over heard the conversation between her uncle and the imperial guard. She can't help but feel guilty because she was the one who gave Enma advice to drink warm milk so that he can go to sleep and ease his anxiousness.

"Who knew that he was a deep sleeper?" Maiev thought to herself while giggling softly.

After the short conversation between the king and the guard, they convinced their king to just award the honor to Enma in his village in Savato. The king reluctantly agreed but needless to say he put his pride aside because this honor is a more urgent matter than his status. With that being said, the king and his guards set their destination to the tiny village of Savato.

Meanwhile Enma was still sleeping comfortably in his house. He was very unaware that the king would actually go to his hometown and award his honor there. He was sleeping like a baby while the whole town now is abuzz because they saw the imperial guards again making their way to the village of Savato. Not long after that the noise outside actually awoken Enma. He still moved slowly because he just woke up and he got to his clothes and got dressed in a slow manner. He went outside to see what was going on and to his surprise there were many people flocking outside his house and they were lined up. The line reached up to the Village chief's quarters.

Enma, who was puzzled at the moment, did not know what to do so he walked towards the sea of people to get to the village chief's quarters. When he got to the entrance of the quarters, he saw the King of Alsirune and The village chief of Savato talking to each other, they were arguing slightly.

"Where is this Enma person that lives here?! The nerve of him making me come here and I was about to present him with an honor." The King shouted

The people were baffled with what they heard.

"I will say this again, you just passed his house sire!" The Village chief said to the king.

"Guards check the house!" The king commanded.

The guards checked Enma's house and to their surprise he was not there. The king now asked The village chief once more.

"Where is he?" 

Then a strange voice was heard from the crowd.

"HERE I AM!!" 

It was Enma who replied as he was trying to get through the sea of people that was between him and the king. Enma now got through and to the king's surprise it was a very unexpected person to receive the honor that he was going to give.

"You are Enma??! I imagined a person who is more of a fighter." The king said.

"Yep make no mistake about it. It is I Enma of Savato at your service!!" Enma replied.

The king and the people were shocked that he talked to the honorable sire that way.

"Is he really Enma??" The king asked the Village chief.

"Yes sire. He is really Enma. Do not be fooled by his stature though, he is a great fighter and he has a good sense of justice inside him. People come to him for advice and help if they have problems." The village chief replied.

"So it really is him huh?" The king said. "Well nevertheless, the ritual starts now! Guards Attack him!!" he added.

Enma was surprised when he heard this and then he saw the  guards attacking one by one. The first imperial guard attempted to slash him with his blade but Enma was too quick for the guard and he disarmed him immediately. 

"What the?!" The guard baffled as his sword now ended up in Enma's hands.

"Looking for this?" Enma said with a large grin. The guard charged at him and Enma evaded the attack. he countered with the sword hilt hitting the guard's jaw, knocking him unconscious to the ground. 

"NEXT!" Enma said

The last two guards attacked him simultaneously and they clashed swords against Enma. The people watching them were amazed in Enma's skill in fighting with swords. The guards were now being beaten by Enma's superior speed and agility in combat and shortly after that Enma knocked the two guards to the ground unconscious as well. The king was amazed that Enma did not even use the blade of the sword he got from the imperial guard and he was also amazed that a regular guy like him could defeat the finest trained soldiers in Alsirune.

"So the prophecy was right, you really are the chosen one!" The king said

The people and the village chief were baffled when they heard this. Enma was confused when he heard this as well.

"What do you mean by "Chosen One"??" Enma asked.

The king showed him a necklace. It looked like an artifact from the olden times The village chief was surprised when he saw this.

"The Redeemer!! I thought it was only a myth!!" 

"Yes it is and no it is not a myth. It has chosen Enma to be it's wielder to destroy the evil that has arisen in our world today!" The King replied.

"What the?! Why me?!" Enma asked the king.

"Because you have a good heart and a great sense of justice. It gives the Redeemer the power to eliminate the evil that is present here today." A voice from the crowd said.

The King and Enma looked around on where the voice came from and they saw a person making her way to them. It was Maiev.

"The Divine Maiden!!" The people exclaimed as they knelt to her to show her respect.

"Arise" Maiev asked them and the people obeyed her and stood back up.

"You!! From last night!!" Enma said. 

Maiev smiled at Enma. She was proud of him not only because he was the one the Redeemer chose but also that he was the one to accompany her in the quest to destroy the evil Shadow Mana that has begun lurking in their world today.

"I...I don't know whether I can do it.. I mean I'm just a regular person..." Enma said.

"You have to do it! You are our only hope." The King said.

Maiev looked at her uncle with a fierce look. She went near him and whispered.

"Do not put pressure on him. Aw what the heck let me handle this." 

The king acknowledged what his niece told her. Maiev went to Enma and she said.

"Enma of Savato, you are of pure heart and you have a great sense of justice inside you. I know that you would make a good Guardian of this world." Maiev said to him

Enma's spirit suddenly changed. He knew what he had to do and with that sense of justice beside him, he was more courageous than before. 

"Okay. I'll do it!" Enma said.

Maiev took the Redeemer necklace from the king and gave it to Enma. The people cheered for him and the Divine maiden. Enma now wore the necklace around his neck and it symbolized the responsibility that he had to do in this world to rid it of evil.
