Chapter 28 - Histories Part 3 (Enma and Maiev) The Night Before The Departure

That night after the commotion in Savato happened, Enma now went to the outskirts of Savato again, to be exact he went to the tree in which he met Maiev the first time. He sat there and thought about the responsibility that was handed down to him by the world. He cannot rid the fact that it was a huge responsibility even for him. Maiev now who was making her way to the same place as well noticed that there was already someone there. She saw that it was Enma. 

"You are thinking way to deep." Maiev said to surprise him

"Oh! Hi, Maiev. What brings you here?" Enma asked

"Nothing much. I had a feeling you'd be here." Maiev said as she smiled at him.

Enma sat down and rested his back on the tree. He thought about the same things as well. Maiev remained stood up as she looked up the stars in the sky. Enma now looked at her and he saw a beautiful lady. Maiev noticed that Enma was now staring at her she then talked to him.

"Hey." 

Enma now snapped out of it.

"Uhh yeah I'm sorry about that. I kinda spaced out there." he replied

Maiev laughed at him.

"What's so funny?" Enma asked 

"Nothing. It's just you are just so random sometimes. That's nice you know. It removes the stress not only in you, but also in others as well." She replied.

Enma smiled at her and Maiev went back at looking at the stars. 

"You really like looking at stars don't ya?

"It's just so beautiful. I wish I could keep one as a remembrance." She replied.

"Yeah. I can look at it all day." Enma said

"Night." Maiev corrected.

They both laughed. Enma laughed because of his mistake and Maiev laughed because she was having fun spending time with Enma. Then he thought about the power that she was doing when he first saw her.

"Hey Maiev, That power that I saw you use.. what was it?" Enma asked her.

"It was mana. As the Divine Maiden, I can manipulate the energy called mana and purify the objects in this world that the shadow mana had stained. It is my role as the Divine Maiden to purify every shadow mana everywhere in this world." She said

"If it's your task to do that, then why do need me?" Enma asked her again

"The shadow mana had been getting stronger and my powers alone cannot stop them, so to solve this problem we had to find that necklace which holds the Redeemers power. But, that was only one part of the process, the difficult part was to find the person chosen by the Redeemer." Maiev replied.

"Ohhhh." Enma said. "How exactly does it choose it's wielder?" he added.

"It is reactive to one's sense of true justice and to one's good heart. That is why it became active this time and chose you." Maiev said.

Enma was surprised that the Redeemer actually chose him to be its wielder. 

"There is one more thing that puzzles me. What kind of weapon is the Redeemer exactly?" He asked Maiev.

"I don't know, we just found it like that as a necklace but I'm sure you'll figure it out mister Guardian!" Maiev said.

The two of them now sat down under the huge tree. Maiev was still looking at the stars and Enma rested his back on to the tree again. There was a period of silence between the two but then Maiev broke it when she started talking again.

"I will be accompanying you to your journey to defeat Nerzhul." Maiev said.

"Really? Well at least I won't be bored." Enma said with a smile.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Maiev asked.

"Umm nothing!" Enma said quickly. "Anyway I gotta go back Maiev, you know early to bed early to rise." he added

"Yeah I agree. You need to rest too heavy sleeper." Maiev joked.

"What's THAT supposed to mean?!" Enma asked her 

"Nothing." She said as she giggled. "Goodnight Enma. See you tomorrow."

"Goodnight to you too Maiev and it was nice talking to you!!" Enma said as he went on his way home.

"Such an energetic person." Maiev thought as she smiled on and went on her way home too.
