Judgement day

Judgement day

A Poem by Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono

He who smiles in the night

And the lawyers who always seem right

Do you realise the jargon of tomorrow?

Those that will put to test the thoughts you borrow

So as you evade circumstance

Do know you are putting Fate to chance

Such that better grin now

Before your spirits cry foul

For the game you are playing

Does not favour what you are saying

The dictators of yesterday

And the politicians of today

As you increase the lies you keep

You ought to know the mountain is getting steep

By the years you do not care about the majority

All you do is fight for your calamity

You now hide under the state

As you join to steal from the Peoples plate

But do know it is a bit too late

To catch up with fate

You were once the people’s choice

But never were you their voice

Quit now before you lose face

For the rhythm is gaining pace

All l can say

Is have it your way

But do remember judgement day.

I do believe in Karma. People who were careful and heartless will pay in the end. Judgement day will be hard for many. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

The point and reasons for the poem was alive and strong.
Fantastic poem, and a topic that lies close to my own heart.

"You now hide under the state

You and i may live worlds apart, but the destruction wrought by corrupt politicians and officials affects us globally, and the sooner that their judgement day comes the sooner we can begin to repair the damage they have caused. Great write
