Carefree

Carefree

A Poem by MonuMohan

What does it mean to be carefree?
It's been so long
I can barely remember me
Remember what I'd choose
If I were all that mattered
Each day brings a new list
A new schedule
Of errands and worries
Of tasks incomplete
Never enough time
What did I do
When I was all that mattered?
Even rest is a luxury
In these days of never ending hurry
Cramming pleasures
Into organized time slots
If I could sit but for a moment
I may remember me
and from there a path
That leads to carefree
