Sliver of Me

Post Breakup pains

There's a part of me 
That will always want you. 
It's small, quiet, a whisper, but it's there
And when all the other parts of me shut their mouths,
The one you own speaks up, 
Whispering to my heart, making it hurt when I see you with someone
New. 
It's impossibly hard to move on
When you still have that piece of me. 
But as the days drag on, 
The piece you own starts to grow quiet. 
I see you less and eventually you will disappear. 

But one day I'll see you in the grocery store
And the piece of me will flip flop like always

And I'll smile
And give it the recognition it deserves.

Every time you give it the recognition it deserves,it opens up old wounds and brings back memories,you realize your still in love and when that person leaves again,you begin to heal but that piece of you still remains and the circle continues,does it ever end? you penned this piece in a wonderful way..well done
