A Poem by Bell Spalding

At the moment

My life is nothing but waiting

Waiting for 12:45 to have lunch

Waiting for Friday to go to the fair

Waiting for the weekend to figure out what the hell is happening in my love life,

If anything

Waiting for the first real set of assignments of the year to see if I’m smart enough

Waiting for some pivotal moment to finally make me into somebody

Waiting to discover that one brilliant prompt to write about

Waiting to find and pursue my dreams

Waiting to feel like I’ve conquered the confusion in the way I’m living

Waiting to know something permanent about myself

Other than the fact that

I

Am

Ridiculously

Impatient

These lines will relate to many people. Some live in the past, some the future, but not enough live in the now. No boredom detected in what I read.

I don't think it is easy to live in the present unless you are totally content with your lot.
