What is considered to be a happy ending? Can you tell me?

What is considered to be a happy ending?

One where the prince and princess live together content in their castle forever?

One where the villain is locked away or better yet killed?

What about the villain’s happy ending?

Would it be to live alone in a world of hate, destroying everyone else’s joy?

Or maybe just to be noticed as a person once in a while who has a damaged past.

 

A mother works three part-time jobs to help support her son into collage.

But still she does not have enough money,

So she marries a man, a cruel brutal man, but one with money to support them.

The son gets into collage and graduates top of his class and lands a job with a successful company.

Was that his happy ending?

What about all the bruises and broken beer bottles his mother had to endure?

At least he finally got away, and received his happy ending.

A beast not slain, but just away from sight.

 

A cop fights crime to keep his family safe from harm,

One day on the job his is killed by a mass murderer.

His happy ending was being able to protect the ones he love, but what about his families’.

His 19 year old daughter joins the force seeking revenge.

They say that revenge does not create happiness, only hate.

But if you glance into her eyes could you see the pain she is carrying, not hate?

She kills the man who murder her father, but does that give her a happy ending or more pain?

The murderer is a foreigner who saw his family killed in front of his eyes by the government.

 Where was his happy ending?

 

What about those who fought on the battlefield, missing years of their own lives.

They come home to families that have grown up and forgotten about them.

 Those who live their nights in terror from a disease called PTSD.

Where is their happy ending?

Could you tell me?

 

So what is considered to be a happy ending?

Are there happy endings?

Or are they just perspectives of someone’s point of view?

Loved the part in this about a villain’s happy ending. A happy ending to me would be being content with what you have. It isn't about having everything that is considered 'perfect' but appreciating things enough to think of them as perfect for you I guess.
