one child

one child

A Poem by Nan
"

compassion will get you there

"

for the first time

loyalty is questioned

like no other place

in history, the ministers

built schools with clay

and straw

now their children

are buried

beneath

as the earth decided

to rock them to sleep

their parents weep without mercy

the government let them have

only one child

This is so brutally to the point. It took me a second to catch my breath after reading it. Damn perfect this is and so true. I think this shall be going in my favorites.
