Picture Ornament

Picture Ornament

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Stocking Digital Photo Christmas OrnamentJesus with Children

My Picture Ornament

I hang the little picture ornament

On the Christmas tree

Remembering all the happy times

That never more will be

My little Christmas angel is just that you see

He’s decorating trees in heaven

Hanging each ornament with God’s Son

Together they hang the tinsel carefully one by one

He ice skates across heaven on an icy cloud

Plays hop scotch down golden streets

And feasts on milk and honey

Then molds fluffy clouds into a fury bunny

He may not be with me this holiday season

He’s a shepherd in heaven’s Christmas pageant

Carrying a golden staff down the aisle towards the throne

And bowing down to Jesus, the everlasting cornerstone

This may not sound like a happy poem,

But friend you’re so wrong

My little angel sends blessings down to me

And happy thought for all our family

One day we’ll be together as we once were

I’ll walk down that long tunnel, embraced in God’s Light

David will run into my arms as if he’d been there all along

Then I will join him and all God’s people in Heaven’s throng

Can you picture such happiness from my picture ornament?

Life is only a single tick on God’s clock in the sky

My little angle enjoys eternal life on this Christmas Day

Instead of feeling sad, I’ll bow my head and pray
