![]() One VoiceA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
One Voice A voice can speak a million words, But it’s not the words that’s in control The voice comes from within the mind A place where words are used to describe Love fears, hopes and dreams And a million schemes A voice only reads what’s written in the mind Be it clean and pure or empty without worth Your words emanate who you are inside And the voice repeats what is there Some vain, haughty and some empty of air There are voices that speak with truth and right Pulling every ounce of love for your fellowman Rolling out off the tongue in velvet chocolate style Breathing peace and fellowship from an uncluttered mind Words written in the mind tells us who you are Someone worthless or one who’s reaching for a star How does the voice speak from your mind? Do people hear words of worthiness? Or words of deceit and hate Does your voice speak proudly? Or with callousness and disdain Is your voice wanted or a major pain We’ve heard it said throughout the land That one voice can make a difference Tell me friend, will your voice be remembered And be quoted down through the ages It will if you clean your mind of debris And ask for guidance on bended knee
