A Thousand Lies

A Thousand Lies

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

A Thousand Lies

Thousands of lies roll off your silver tongue
Ripping her heart to threads
Whisper your unceasing lies in vain
It is you who will now feel pain

Disguised behind your twisted smile
Believing that you are hidden
Your treachery has been revealed
And I will be her shield

Now the mask is mine to wear
You will now feel her pain
My trap will soon be sprung
I’ll still that lying tongue

Lightning once was in your eyes
And everyone ran for their lives
But lightning now is mine to flash
Now it’s your turn to feel the crash

Hell hath no fury ... I loved the end about the lightening and his destruction being within your grasp.
