![]() Purple HazeA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Purple comes in many hues Made of blue and red Purple magic all around Floating though my head Plum purple on a thumb Dipped into a pie A good boy I see The apple of my eye Violet purple of flowers in bloom Kissed by the sun and the dew Whispers of love and roses Violets of love brand new Lilac purple aroma on the breeze Whiffing on land and sea Wiping out loneness A lonely hearts guarantee Orchid purple worn in corsage style Adorn teen girls everywhere At proms throughout the world Boys in tuxedoes bring them there Royal purple and regal sounding color Worn by Princesses and Queens At royal balls of the realm Fairytale castles completes these scenes Lavender sweet perfume of the young and old Sweet old ladies and childlike girls Wear this fragrant scent With their hair done in curls Periwinkle also known As lavender blue Rolls off the tongue In a colorful hue Fuchsia better known As lavender rose More red than blue In this pinkish purple repose I’m sure there are more out there Purple in Nature’s display In gladioli, lisianthus and freesias Adorns a wedding bouquet Purple Haze © 2008 Nancy Lee Shrader |
