Unpolished perfection
A jewel in the rough
Seeking approval
And the going is tough
A full length mirror
Brings sorrow to the girl
The vision she sees
Sends her mind in a whirl
Scraped is her spirit
Lonely is she
Wrapped in emotion
She can’t let it be
Lamentations commence
Her cries catch in her throat
At this point in time
She’s no queen on her float
Breaking the pattern
She has to remain strong
Scrape fat from her plate
So she can belong
An alphabet of reasons
Causes her to abate
Her mirror image sings out
You must lose this weight
The pitch in her voice
Rises to the breaking point
Her full length mirror
She will not disappoint
Six weeks of denial
Took inches away
Her figure in curved
Now she carries a bouquet
She rides on her float
Queen for a day
Landed a dreamboat
Her smile is here to stay
