Hope in the Darkness

Hope in the Darkness

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Hope Shines

In the Darkness

Bleakness surrounds us

Darkness everywhere

Whispers of nothingness

Floating on suffocating air

Hopeless voices heard

Amongst the dark and gloom

Cries in the night

Like voices from a tomb

Through desolation

A light shines through

Overpowering the darkness

To make things brand new

In the distance

On a snow white cloud

A horseman burns bright ~ who

Once wore a shroud

Bled on a Cross

For the salvation of sin

Ascended to greatness

So we all may come in

To His Father’s Kingdom

Paved with gold

Joy and happiness

For young and old

No tears in His kingdom

No toils or care

Only His Amazing Light

For all to share

Once there was darkness ~ but

Light lifted it away

And carried each soul

To a glorious eternal day

Your poem brought tears to my eyes. Such feeling and hope encased in your dedicated words. Thank you for this. My tears are for those who don't believe, they are missing out. One day every knee shall bow...so we have hope for all. May God bless you for this gorgeous poem!
