Snowflakes and Crystal Trees

Snowflakes and Crystal Trees

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Snowflakes and Crystal Trees

Standing at my window

In the early morning dawn

Watching the snowflakes fall

I happily yawn

A blanket of white drifts

Throughout my mind

Holding me in the moment

Heart and soul intertwined

I see beauty beyond compare

Untouched by life’s soiling grime

Purity in a delicate lacy design

Picture perfect, a beautiful rhyme

Toils of the day will have to wait

Life will resume all too soon

So here at my window I’ll enjoy the view

For it will be gone by mid afternoon

Nothing more beautiful

White snowflakes and crystal trees

Swirling and whirling

On a cold winter breeze

This is so beautifully written. I loved the feeling of opening my eyes to this scene.

Morning offers us not only a fresh start, but also a fresh view. It is a glorious sight to see the landscape painted freshly white with new-fallen snow. Your poem is a lovely reminder of the beauty nature offers us if only we are willing to take a moment to appreciate its wonder. Nice work, Nancy. Sharon
