Haiku Memories

Haiku Memories

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Memories

In the distant past

Memories of days gone by

Rollercoaster ride

Empty now it stands

No longer shiny bright and red

Dilapidated

Echoes of the past

Screaming voices can be heard

Within my mind’s ear

Oh the fun I had

With my boyfriend long ago

He’s my husband now

Now grandma, grandpa

Hold hands while reminiscing

Reliving our youth

AW! So fun to read. Very sweet, and extremely reminiscent. It brings to mind The Notebook for some reason. I guess because Noah and Allie met at a Carnival. Ha! Idk, but I really like this. I believe you're the only person who has chosen this picture so far, and you've set the bar pretty high. Thanks SO much for entering the contest. Tell your friends. ;)
