Dream Within A Dream

 

ALL THAT WE SEE OR SEEM
IS BUT A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM

There’s no reality that stings the heart

To destroy my tranquil soul, as I depart

The realism of the world; so in my dream I’ll stay

 

There’s no pain that takes my breath away

In the silence of the night, or the brightness of the day

Within my dream I walk on golden streets

Safely tucked between my satin sheets

Within my dream I discover a healing balm

 

Rambling through gardens of peaceful calm

Speaking to my heart like a prayerful psalm

If when I awake will I still be dreaming

No one in my world of dreams is ever scheming

Within my amazing dream all things will blend

 

Will I still be within my dream whispering on the wind?

Talking to the flowers blowing kisses fourth the send

Holding tight to the calming feeling of my dream within a dreams

For inside my mind nothing is as it actually seems

So take my heart and mind and hold them within my illusive dream

I especially liked the first stanza: "There's no reality that stings the heart To destroy my tranquil soul, as I depart" It nicely sets the stage for the rest of the idea of the poem - that wonderland, set apart, the dream.
Any your tie-in to reality: "If when I awake will I still be dreaming". How often have we all awoken for real or even within our dreams, wondering, 'are we awake?'. Your rhythm and rhyme are calming along with the poem, they set the cadence for us to travel with you, nice. Take out the 'a' in the last stanza and it would be flawless. Wonderful, insightful.
