My Yellow Moon

My Yellow Moon

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

My yellow moon shines down

On every little sleepy town

It brings together true love

With moonbeams from above

It puts a song in a child’s heart

They learn to sing from the very start

Reasons we have gone into space

To take a look at the moon’s face

Some say he’s made of green cheese

But I can tell you with ease

The man in the moon watches us all

From the very small to the very tall

I'm sorry to have missed your writing for so long. It's nice to see that you are still writing masterpieces like this one. The deviation from the haiku is different, but not a bad thing; I like how you seem to adapt to any style of poetry and still create great works. Please keep it up, if you really have the urge to.
