Sadness and Sorrow

 

 

Sadness and sorrow

The twins of unhappiness

Creeping in my soul

 

Death’s sting brought them home

Carried their luggage in hand

Will they ever leave?

 

Ugly are the twins

They’re haunting me night and day

Blocking all my dreams

 

Nightmares haunt my sleep

Clouding my sweet memories

Oh twins do your worst

 

My love is at rest

Painful are my days and night

So alone am I

 

Sorrow engulfs me

Will this sadness ever cease?

Grief fills up my heart

 

 

My painful heart swells

He left part of him behind

For my heart to hold

 

Sunshine bursting forth

Grandchildren fill me with love

Chase the twins away

Making sadness and sorrow 'twins' is so fitting as they are.
This is very sad reminds of losing a loved one , i did about 2 years back and felt, feel just as this poem... so glad part was left to help fill the emptiness, wonderfully written and expressed.
