Shades of Distinction

Shades of Distinction

A Poem by Nancy Martin
"

colors of love and equality

"
 A spectrum of colors
It's prism a variegation of delight
 A figment of virtual reality
A hallucination of a fools paradise
A bubble of delusion creates a fantasy of illusion
A utopia of a visionary mirage
 A mind trip of confusion
 A day dream A nightmare
 A diversified conglomerate
 A semblance of man
 The depiction of Equality
The replica image of a peaceful co- existance

I would further enjoy this piece if there were more to it. Maybe after every line you have, break it up and try to write two or three lines after it that describe the first line. The repetition of the “A” at the beginning of every line is enough to make people disinterested in the poem itself. I would love to see what kind of “fools paradise”, “nightmare”, “semblance of man” these colors can create. Or rather, what these things mean to you as they are portrayed by these prisms of color.
