A Winters Embrace

A Winters Embrace

A Poem by Natalie M writes...
"

Winters song written without stanzas.

"
The smitten fire sphere hides from the cunning crescent hung like a child’s mobile.
“Come out to play,” the dark taunts.
Its gnarled fingers curled like its twisted smirk.
A crippling blow of natures arctic breath withers throughout a haunted, mortal soul.
Askew, barren trees reflect their emotions toward the ground,
Causing the nights ghastly ghouls to not mutter a sound.
The world suffering from nostalgia;
Reminiscing in a flourished time.
All had once gathered in joy, now dispersed,
Having a deep-rooted fear of the unknown.
Achromatic nights lacking in insomniacs and lovers
Forever somber and desolated.
Summer teases the civilized flesh with it’s alluring sunsets,
But December tumbles in every year,
Consisting of caliginous, uncertain nights.
We whisper back to the Earth
“Escape from my marrow, and animate my bodily sanctuary nevermore.”
Mushrooming it’s over-spent stay,
The witching hour befalls.
The sun provides a solace,
And a warm brush upon our cheeks.
