Poem: New Shoes Blues

At long last I got my new shoes,

 And now it's time to take them on a cruise,

I know my mom won't be amused,

When I tell her she purchased the wrong sized shoes.

                 

She asked me twice if they were OK.,

Not really but I made her pay for them anyway,

Now not a word to her I dare not say,

They were the last pair left on sale that day.

 

My BFF told me that they would stretch,

I should not have listened to her, that wretch,

'They will feel better soon,' that's what she said,

Now my poor little feet are blistered and red.

 

I just knew I'd look totally cool,

'cause I'd be the only one to have them in the entire school!

They say beauty pains and for me that's true,

I wouldn't listen to that nonsense if I were you.

 

Is there a Band-Aid or something I could use?

I just need to get rid of these new shoes blues.

Ahhh a fellow Jamaican, hardly see you people on here. This poem was pretty good, though not the topic I most fancy. But it was well written nonetheless. Cant believe I was more than remotely entertained by some rant about shoes. :)

Not my fave topic either but the shoes thing did happen to me long ago. Lol I figured it was best written from a kid's point of view. If an adult went on abt it it would be annoying; good to know I'm not the only Jamaican here:)
