Stubborn Fate

Stubborn Fate

A Poem by Norie C
"

A summary of my own experiences with disappointment and short-comings.

"
Cars Fly By,

The road steams,

It reaches me,

Awakening the senses,

Breaking down the fences,

Pervading a burdened soul,

The heat makes me whole;

breaking away temporary pain,

Yet still leaving old cuts and bruises,

It cannot mend broken, frayed fuses,

Soon it leaves,

The heat going back to the streets,

Left on cold steps,

I wander when its next visit might be,

I cannot be left alone,

I might get lost out here on my own,

As I walk these lonely roads,

Potholes beckoning my fall, crying out for me to trip,

I keep running, refusing to slip,

But Lo' and Behold, I mistook a dead-end for bright lights,

My destination; A brick wall,

Reaching unattainable heights,

Oh, but how I beg the wall to PLEASE crack, to just let me through,

But it only laughs and stands firm,

My loss is none of its concern.
