Finger to the Sky

Finger to the Sky

A Poem by Neal S

The snow fell like a windmill that night
Round and round
We huddled by the gleaming graffiti fire
Like crows singing cycles round a corpse
Only to find our souls frozen on the line
Crouching in the dark
A mass inverted consciousness
Fading fast beyond my finger to the sky

I'm seeing this two ways. Either way I see resilience in the face of something trying.
The finger to the sky gives me two pictures though, one is someone reaching to the stars as if for help or guidance the other is 'the finger' in an f/u sort of way as if to say you won't be broken. Really neat. What does it mean to you?
