Sand Castle

Sand Castle

A Poem by Mika Haruna

The waves lap at my feet.

I gather my prayer

into the castle

of sand I built.

The water is so deep.

I cannot swim

I make a wish

To be safe.

The victory is so sweet.

When the sand castle

is finished, finally

the stars gather

around the

sand.

The waves Pull me closer.

into their depths

I cannot swim

I cry out

Help.

The castle has washed away.

all that i had worked for

gone in an instant

along with me

into the deep.

Reminds me of life. We build up a sand castle (a career, education, etc) and we can only hope fate (the waves) does destroy that.
Well done! Love this poem.

Really interesting, sweet, and unique! This poem also made me think of this song, Viva la Vida by Cold Play. Awesome song!
