Lone Wolf

Lone Wolf

A Poem by Nervana Zahran

The wolf wanders around the forest at night and I wander around my mind
The wolf howls to be heard, I scream at the top of my lungs
We don’t cry when we’re sad, we growl
I growl when I’m mad, I growl cause I’m misunderstood
I can’t tame my wildness, my free spirit
I dance under neon lights and smell life before I taste
I swim rivers and never walk on bridges
The fire in my heart can burn your entire city, my demons are in control
I count the stars my love, I run against the wind all the time
I don’t belong with them so don’t put me in that lane
Ignite my little heart and I’ll make you own the entire universe
We’ll explore and explode together, cause that’s what we are made of
And I can understand that the lone wolf wants to fight alone
But how beautiful would it be if the lone wolves survive together?
