Waking Up Next To Him

Waking Up Next To Him

A Poem by Ariana Omnomnom

Turn and toss
I'm laying, looking across
He's sleeping near by
There's no need to cry
Dawn is slowly creeping
There's no more weeping
I've got him here now
Never thought he would
But it happened somehow
Always thought it should

Slipping past the quiet minute
Never wanting to end this visit
Staring at his sleeping face
Holding him just in case
The pale moon out in the window
I love him today and I'll love him tomorrow
I don't quite understand
How I always tried with no avail
Now I am holding his hand
With this precious male

Toss and turn
No need to yearn
But I'll love him till the end and on
For when he's gone he's never really gone
If he's away for a while
He comes back with a smile
And in my bed
There's no need to cry
Cuz there's other places, but he's here instead
He's here in my sheets, with stars in the sky
