Locked Up

Locked Up

A Poem by Nickalas Cannon

Will I wake up-
Rise up from the petaled bed-
Am I locked up-
Locked to only be safe-

Will Prometheus give me fire-
Fire to consume all my emotions-
All of my feelings-
Or will Medusa turn me to stone-

I need light-
I need the sun-
To find my way out of this darkness-

I must not meddle-
I must not become the medicine for the feared-
It will only weaken and destroy me-

I must lay here-
In the bed of petals-
Not to waken-Only to be locked up

Yes. Thank you, Yusuf.
I enjoyed this poem very much . I like how there is craving for escape of some sort or a some sort of sensory stimulation. Only to accept a fate that is not totally desired. Good read!

Thank you so much.
Love the allusions to mythology and how they were used in a unique way. Well written. Good job! :)
