I Welcome Today

You hate everything about me

you wish me dead

and i feel the same about you

though i admit i did not always

only after i realized did my heart slowly begin to change

at first i wanted to prove to you my worth

though now much time has past

and the way you feel about me has changed my whole

especially my future

for though i do not care about myself, anyone, or anything

one thing still remains the same

i want to prove to you my worth

i want to prove to you i have a right

i want to prove my right to live

do so at any means

i want to prove to at least someone

i have that right and have always had that right

so that maybe someway, somehow

they will pass it on to you

and you will know that you shouldn't have assumed

you could have forseen what you caused

in the past i was numb

today i prove my worth

and tommorow i die knowing you were wrong all along

So know that now i may be stuck in the past

but i will always be ready for the surpises of today
