Peace (Part 1)

Peace (Part 1)

A Poem by Nicole

Directing seventy ton tanks
To blast pacifism and mass religion
So you can find peace of mind at the gas pump paying a few cents less
Now that’s senseless
Pushing the envelope to pack deeper pockets
Peace is a commodity only able to be bought in the suburbs
We just put a price tag on it Cha Ching
Encase peace symbols in platinum BLING
And let it dangle from chains that hold us back from peace
Hippie symbols have been bent out of shape
Now represented by dollar signs
But you wouldn’t find peace
If you drilled straight through diamond mines
Peace has got diamonds on its mind
Crystals created prisms
And we followed the light
In search of gold tinted pieces of peace
At the end of the rainbow
There ya go let your human nature show
