BE YOURSELF

we hide behind fear as it swallows our dreams whole

with fear holding us back our minds get out of control

if you never let go, well then you’re stuck

were wrapped up and trapped, closed from fear

we didn’t even recognize the opportunities that were so clear

they poised us with religion and shoved it down our throats

conditioning us to be afraid every word we spoke
