Defeatist

One of many poems I wrote when I didn't realize I was dealing with depression

I feel like I'm drowning
My heart filling with emotions
My head crowded with thoughts
Anxiety taking over the space in my lungs
Choking on every word left unsaid trapped and fighting for liberation
The unspoken only accounted for in my mind

I'll always be the one everyone looks up to, but won't acknowledge as  a failure.
