Damaged Canvas

It's past midnight and you feel exceptionally insecure and vulnerable - so you wish someone would come and find you.

If I push my pride away

If I'm lost and I haven't got any clue

Would you come to me

Even if it's just for a second or two?

 

If I struggle with myself,

If I break down tonight

If I needed to hold someone,

Would you be with me just this once?

 

If I got tired of pretending

If I'm done with smiling

If I want to crawl out of this misery

Would you hold out your hand for me?

 

If I'm shattered and exhausted

If I'm beyond broken,

If I needed to be rescued

Would you come and save me?

 

If all I am is a damaged canvas,

Would you still come and paint on me?
