Summer of Love

Summer of Love

A Poem by Nathan Lawless

I turn the record on
And it’s my favourite song
It goes something like this,
A walrus came walking by
And looked me dead in the eye
He said that I’m the best,
So then I turned it off
And then I started to cough
And then I started to cry
Because I’m dying inside,
I know those days are gone
And looking back is wrong,
But I have to see
What it was like to be free,
And then the walrus returned
He made me sit down and learn,
It might be right back then
But it shouldn’t happen again,
So then I grabbed my hat
Patted him on the back,
Said goodbye to Jim
Hey Joe came from him,
Then I pulled my head back
Lay down in my shack,
Looked at the stars above
Back in the summer of love

I have no idea how old you are but this reminds me of ME as a youngster....all those years ago....You've done a pretty good job here it just needs to mature a bit.....you WILL improve
