Good-Bye Sir

Good-Bye Sir

A Poem by Norma Gonzalez
"

A successful woman who encounters her biological father

"
You have came to my doorstep to ask for forgiveness
A man I never knew or even existed
Now that I'm educated and have a great future ahead
You come to me and say
"I'm your father"

You in your rags you show up
Just to show your pitiful self in front of me
And make me believe that you have nowhere to go
Knowing what you did in the past
You're just a no excuse of a "father"

You cry in tears of your regret
Than why did you not come when I needed you most?
As a child I met a man who I one day came to call
"Father"
He who loves my mother, and gave me a brother
A man deserving to be called
"Father"

I have no regrets in opening this door
For now I am in peace
I forgive you for giving me a life, and a true father
But now I will shut the door
And may you be blessed wherever you go
Good-bye "sir"

This is wonderful. I feel its intensity even though I don't relate to the scenerio. Great job.
