So I saw you today

Got nervous and walked away

Staring at you the whole time

Wishing you were still mine

But I guess you never loved me

You always said we couldn't be

But I never believed you

I looked for any hope to hold onto

Maybe I was in the wrong

You said this relationship wouldn't be long

I just hoped that you would change your mind

That you'd put your past thoughts behind

I fell in love with you, you know

And it broke my heart to watch you go

But if you're happy, then it's for the best

So I'll try to lay these thoughts to rest
