Horses' Whispers

Horses' Whispers

A Poem by Anonymous

Like riding fake horses in amusement parks,
Illusions of control over mind and body parts
Of humans, cultures, societies,
Submit to the flow of consciousness.
We use as an excuse to erase our promises
Prominent benchmarks, polished answers,
"I was helping the other," "I was fighting monsters."
We pretend to forget about the unconscious.
We battle our egos in a passionate embrace
Releasing tight grips after bad make-up sex,
believing that we did not learn to believe,
learning that we endlessly learn as we live.
What is learning? Repeat after me:
I THINK FOR MYSELF. I AM DIFFERENT.
Good job. One more time. Just kidding.
Growth is connection with as much
Of everything as possible. Admitting
We are cells of one organism, fighting deadly
disease, in the process attacking cosmos.
Why is it so hard to be people?
Be my guest. No, be my bro. Be.
