I Remember

I Remember

A Poem by N. Scott Cohen

I remember the spring we had
Our love blossomed; our happiness grew
Nothing could be better,
But just to be with you.

I remember the summer we had
Our love everlasting; our joy eternal
Those memories I will cherish,
Forever kept in my journal.

I remember the autumn we had
Our love peaked; our lives content
We both knew the truth,
And so grew our internal torment

I remember the winter we had
Our love shaken; your health declining
I cried every night,
My hope still shining

I remember the last words we had
Our love forever; our love forever
I whispered goodbye,
And we were no longer together.

You have so much talent, I really admire all of your work.
I think this is my favorite poem of yours.
The words flow beautifully,
and the meaning behind them was heartbreakingly real.

Great job, and good luck in the contest!

Heartfelt poem, well written even though I find the rhyme a bit contrived. Nicely done.
