Five years later

A Poem by Nicole (Carpe Diem)
"

Ok so I am being controversial today with my writing Its just things that have been bothering me for some time. It gets me I am tired of people saying that if you are against the war you are not supporting the soldiers. I disagree. I want them to be

"

Five years later and 4000 dead
When will it end?
Soldiers and innocent bystanders
How many more will perish?
It needs to be over

Sadness, despair, no hope
Bombings continue
Death tolls continue to climb
No peace in sight
When will it be over?

Parents loosing their babies
Wives and husbands loosing each other
Children becoming orphans
How much longer will this suffering continue?
Five years later and 4000 dead.

Bravo again my dear friend... yes this war is a useless one abut oil, power and revenge by our great leader(NOT)... and no if your against the war doesn't mean you don't support our troops cause they don't have a choice... it's those in our government we oppose and we have that right under free speech... this is written with a passion for those who serve and protect.

This poem touches me very much! It reminds me of a famous poem named "Send Off'. Such a nice expression with the simple words weaved therein!

Good job done.

Thank you.

Raja.

Being in the military and seeing s**t first hand always gives me mixed feelings when i read poems like this honestly we did step into a war thats been raging for 5000 years and our intentions probably where faltered i have a tattoo that says id rather die a soldier than live a coward. I really do like this poem and i dont think your being anti troop for this but bottom line intentions or not intentions the dynasty we over threw saved probably millions I cant honestly i dont know which is the greater evil. Only if the world was that simple
great read

Fight war, not wars - something to always remember. Trouble is politicians don't follow that maxim instead involving an economy and public spending on weapons. I am interested in the number of people against one war or another as this is something largely ignored by those 'in charge' when troops are sent out to defend our interests.

Ok so have you been trolling around in my head again. You wrote words that echo in my head daily and are issues I speak about quite often. You have once again gave us the reader a lot to ponder about and have rolling through our thoughts in the days that follow. I am proud to call you a friend as you speak your mind and tell a truth that needs to be heard and ask the question we deserve answers to.

Great Job!!!!!

I completely agree with you. I don't think this is controversial at all... it is the way it is. What I find worrying is how blind people can be to the damage that is being done through this war. By not supporting the war you are showing the most respect possible for the lives of the soldiers. Well said!
