Breaking Waves

Breaking Waves

A Poem by Nikki Lynn
"

This poem is for everyone who ever felt like they were being crushed by the shear amount of pain that tends to accompany bad emotions.

"

Lost and scared on the sea of emotions

she coasted through life just going through the motions.

She longs to touch the shore but is scared of what she'll find,

she must get there before she runs out of time.

The people on the island seem so happy and safe,

while she's out in the water fighting to stay afloat in the cascading waves.

Her body is giving up, her lungs are out of air,

there is no way she will make it there.

Her limbs stop working, she is sinking below the sea,

and it was in that moment that an angel set her free.

He pulled her onto his raft and held her tight,

and it was then her world became bathed in a whole new light.

Author's Note

Nikki Lynn
Be as harsh as needed, but don't simply state that you don't like it. Trash-talk is unproductive, if you don't like it tell me what I need to improve. Thank you for your time and I hope that this- in one way or another- speaks to something deep down inside you.
