The Chief Inspirer

The Chief Inspirer

A Poem by Riordan McNew
"

The Soul Gets Higher

"
We were there from the start,
Entwined within thine soul
To remind you where to go.

The midnight rider
the Soul Survivor
The chief inspirer
Everlasting Highness on this zombified island

Clockwork Wizards ensure a certified good time
We forgot how to play because we now have no work.
Learned unlike those jerks, formerly our masters
We don't plan our student's classes
It's unnecessary to program the masses

When we awoke, the tower went down right away.
Could they have known the power had grown?
Once the host found out what it was really all about,
The parasitic ghost, older than our home,
It rode here on a celestial stone
Way back when wisemen roamed.

They fooled us once and look how long
It took for us to regain Our throne.
Osiris used to rule so well,
Saith man, 'Go to Hell!,
One wish before your mission you embark,
Take these foul monsters back to the dark.'
Foolish we'd been, 'twas permanent home,
Now nothing matters, Our King:Most Unknown.
