Callow; his disappointment

Callow; his disappointment

A Poem by Gaige

Awakening to a day
Restless and weary
Passive, wasting away
Caught by insecurities
Cold thoughts a cancer
Maybe he'd be better off
With silent serenity
A brief reflection
Of dreams and aspirations
Who he might have been
Forlorn haunts
Of the full man
He could be
But the hollow takes him
Searching for a cure
To an absent disease
Sick with circumstance
Begging for finality
His mortal coil
A perfect enemy

Not bad, and you've painted a very clear and vivid image here. There's a solemn quality to this which is somewhat hard to nail down as a writer, but I think you've managed it very well. Well done.
