World of Abandon

World of Abandon

A Poem by Gaige

Cold winter hymn singing a grave song

A cadence of remorse in remembering

All of those who lie dead and gone

Young lover buried in the spring

A perfect mimic of everything pure

Her innocence fallen in soft locks of blonde

The living whisper her name no more

Forgotten in a hundred years of snow

Sorrowful, only soul left to chill

An untended cross, a worn stone

Of this beautiful girl's face no one knows

Fallen angel left to such a cruel fate

Noose of hope and featherless wings

In eternity alone this pretty girl lays

God has truly left this place
