Apologies

Apologies

A Poem by Ocularfracture
"

A poem I once wrote to try and negotiate peace with my in-laws.

"
You come from one place
I come from another.
The things we both do
seem to dig at each other.
I don't understand you,
you don't get me either.
We both ask who's right.
The answer is neither.
Love is not angry,
it doesn't hold grudges.
We're both feeling hurt
but neither one budges.
I'm writing this poem to take the first step.
I'm sorry for getting us into this mess.
The things that I've said
I sincerely regret
And I wish things could be
like they were when we met.
I don't like to hurt you,
but I am hurt, too.
I strive through each day
just trying to get through.
This peace we both seek
can't be found alone.
Mutual effort from both
must be shown.
I'm willing to try now
if you're willing, too.
Let's both try to see
from a new point of view.

About
I've been writing since I learned how. I'm not saying that 5-year-old work was any good. All's I'm sayin' is that the passion has been there as far back as I can remember. My mother always read me sto.. more..
