"

The world’s accelerated chaos begs perhaps unanswerable questions. One must regret it’s not an American exclusive problem.

Cavemen in Tuxedos (an editorial)

Choose your costume

Your weapon

Your accouterments of security

And still you have what?

Whether through the culture of law

Medicine

Politics

Science

We learn very little

About nature wanting us to be

But human

Too many carry the club of greed

Protected by armature power

Positions free to brandish self-serving blows

Whether from insulated offices

Atop towering edifices of success

Or in the hallowed halls of governance

Where purposed legislative impotence

Knows only re-election

They continue their deliverance

Wielding crushing blows upon sanity

Taking advantage of society’s acquiescence

Rendering its moral compass to tatters

Knowing its philosopher king remains

Nowhere to be found

Would that a visitor might appear

One from some distant and ancient planet

One whose existence

Has survived billions of years

Visiting for one purpose only

To deliver a message

“You have lost your minds.

Choosing to live in a bubble

Thinking it will never burst.

My presence now becomes your testimony

Such solipsism has in fact started its implosion”

Might it be

Self annihilation merely waits

Choice of method

By our cavemen in tuxedos?
