Straight to Hell

Straight to Hell

A Poem by Souladareatease
"

"it's a story, actually i'm Mythtaken"

"

Blue took to the water

gazing out, far he could see
knowing if he swam hard
he would be to the spot
he loved so much

With vigor and taste
beloved lake, his mind
to the side
glanced Earth and Sky
recess became excess
dripping pearls pool
collections came
conscious thought

...Suddenly...

The water turned brackish,
tendrils of the bed grab hold, tugging
as the Hydra wakes, someone
dare
touch his lake
rises up to collect
each head twisting, spliced to see
climbing
swam the beast, fleet

Blue screams bubbles
drug down, in a watered kingdom
As Danaiads sing of "another victim"
At the gate he is laid, taken away
from above
the Underworld
walking through bars
only mist can dew
trickling, flitting down
the Caverned hall

Seeing the end
that all, so call
took the hand
The Great Hades
averting his face
"come now as Persephone"
"for the hour grows late"
"we'll gaze upon Tartarus"
"know that's not Your fate"
"But what you shall have made"
"Is story for others above the lake"

As the Caverns opened
the din grew loud
His love of life
went to cloud
wanderer be
drifting
Hades
free

I love myth especially if we draw lessons and learn about ancient cultures that made our past history and influenced our present and this poem takes us to those great times of ancient myths...:)

mythology is one of my favorite obsessions....uh, look at my avatar.....this is written really well, original interpretations and a unique perspective...me, i would have had Blue "do" Persephone in front of Hades, just to piss the old boy off...but i am a wretch and a scoundrel. nicely penned, my friend!

Sounds like blue got drunk and ended up in the well, anthologically speaking. ha....very nicely pen'd. Hades free sounds like a good plan by the way. Good one my friend. :-)
