Settling journeys

Settling journeys

A Poem by Souladareatease

Darling Dawn arose
looking about what way
She had come
the raft had carried Her ashore
made of bark, twine and time
a shirt from Her back for a sail
the journey had been choppy seas
full of life's expectancy
She tried tying prismatic bows
to the soles of her feet
they would fray as jagged stones
had their way ripping them undone
Her knees bent keeping the path clean
scratching deep as clawing wore thin
She resolved to build a craft
One She could dream
As One She could be
She melded Her pain and misery
standing on the banks
gazing out to life and breeze
culling on Her creation
bleeding, such salted exhaustion
peering as a waif, left unsung
with fortunes denied nor humble home
Her hands ached as heart tied strength
binding the raft on which She could flee
She pushed out, floating amidst seagull
whales and brink, ever thinking
fearing the edge of distant vision
falling asleep as She floated on
under glistening setting sun
dreamed of laugh and once upon
through the night this misted time
ignited the spark aflame to the dark
hope was Hers if only in dream
She, a light a beacon to sea
Then came the bump
to Her settled head waking Her up
to new found land
She the conqueror quest  trekker
stood, as a warrior She now knew

a shirt from Her back for a sail -- Wow, wow, wow...love these images.

This one really made me think, my friend. I love the idea of being liberated from the bonds and constraints of "proper thought". I think that many need to be "woke up...to a new found land"; metaphorically, this works on so many levels. I'm entrhalled with your writing style, it is so punchy, and yet soothing at the same time. You are a master of the word, my friend.

I could not have said it better as Maryanne, beneath, for I thought exactly the same, it's for us Asians a richness to live like this, and to acchieve real nirvana, (freedom-light) whatever... it's well spelled here.
I feel free while reading this, and the beauty of your quill is endless, for it brings me shivers, the way you can bring over imagery here. So good!

Self-realization is a profound state of liberation to discover and to live in. Your poem tells it so. And beyond it are various ecstatic states and emotions that reveal the nature of the world. It is remarkable and extraordinary to awaken into one's transcendental nature. Into that which is beyond time and space.
