Touching down

Touching down

A Poem by Souladareatease

Calamus touching down
whispering fragrance
embody my parlour air
covers of calf skin
blanket in north wind
as blood of the gall
seers deep into my vein

How more can sunshine
set high in cleared sky
what drips not trace of rain
but edged in mist
as a tide rolls in
fount of youth flows high
what sets in blue

Then what should be first
always ascends heaven
The epicenter milkyway
in coin tossed wish
that rippled destiny
as a boy knelt in prayer
rose upon long stemmed rose

Call the broadsword for I am done
pierced upon arrows Eros has flung
what is kept among shadow
tickles my tongue purses my lips
urges me on to that which in life
called me at once purposed and right
I gladly lay down my god blessed life

this is so mythological in its feel...so imbedded with love or the most romantic influence...

Thank You ever so much Jacob...appreciate the visit-my humble writes!!!
Such a beatiful, and also personal ode to (also me beloved " Hellas "). could feel the air, the calamus and the roots, the blue hue... I found this most pleasurable to read.

Very well written my friend.

Hehe, I'm smiling.... a Weak for the Greek... always! ;-)
Such a beautifully classic feel to these words. I love the way that you brought in Eros toward the end, because I think that the embodiment of Eros, love and the connection to Aphrodite, really ties this up beautifully.

The epicenter milkyway
in coin tossed wish
that rippled destiny
as a boy knelt in prayer -- such a beautiful stanza.

Humbled...
